While time is still premium, following some discussions with customers I think a Decision Review System within the Companion App would be an extraordinary feature, once again pushing the boundaries with a table top cricket game, demonstrating why Power Play Cricket is the go to choice in this genre.
Anticipating a little down time after a busy Christmas where we managed to get quite a few orders out of the door. A few hiccups with the courier and some processes that needed to be addressed to ensure customers receive the game in good condition first time, and I’ll be working to ensure this happens in the new year.
So what is the plan? The Live Scoring Screen provides users with a simple method of keeping score with a ball by ball system ensuring complete and accurate batting statistics. This simplicity allows the action to be on the table, rather than on the screen, and my intention is to keep it that way.
Having said that, we are about to enter 2026. As such, a table top cricket game that we all love does not reflect what has become an important part of the real game. So at Lugstars Gaming we (me) are looking to develop a Decision Review System that utilises your phone’s existing sensors (camera and microphone) to give you, the customer, an optional slow motion replay of the ball you just delivered so you can determine if that was an edge or not!
I learnt quite a bit from my Electronics Engineering Degree about Digital Signal Processing and hopefully it will be useful here. Since your phone only has a unidirectional microphone and Snicko Ultra Edge uses an omnidirection microphone we are at a huge disadvantage. I’ll also be trying to develop a ball tracking system akin to hawkeye, so you can have a bit more confidence in using LBW dismissals in your game.
It’s a huge undertaking for sure, and it could be a total waste of my time if it doesn’t actually enhance the game in any way. But, Power Play Cricket wasn’t made to emulate, and Lugstars Gaming are here to innovate – and a Decision Review System is yet another feature that no other table top cricket game has. Will our Decision Review System be as bad as Snicko? Probably, but it cannot be any worse can it? … can it?

Finally, given that England have given us poms very little to cheer about, I’d like to congratulate Australia on retaining the Ashes tonight. It’s the hope that kills you, and it was nice to finally see a bit of grit from a few of the boys last night. Let’s hope we can take this into the fourth test and the lads can put the misery of the first few weeks behind them and start to show the ability we all know they have.
