The name “Lugstars” has its roots in the world of online gaming. It began with a Clash of Clans clan, where my gamertag is Lugs—a name originally born from a World of Warcraft character years prior. That spirit of community and friendly competition is at the heart of everything we do.

So, naturally, picking our brand name quite literally was a case of “hey, what about Lugstars Gaming”.

The Spark of 3D Printing: An Engineer’s Hobby

While studying for my degree in Electronics Engineering, I was first introduced to 3D printing for a final year project. I was instantly captivated by the technology’s potential to turn digital designs into tangible objects.

What began as a necessity for university quickly became a dedicated hobby, and I invested in my own 3D printer, spending countless hours learning and experimenting.

The Search for a Lost Classic: A Table Top Cricket Quest

One evening, nostalgia struck. I found myself searching online for a table top cricket game like the iconic World Cup Cricket game I remembered from my youth. To my disappointment, I discovered it was nowhere to be found. That’s when the idea struck: could I combine my new passion for 3D printing with my love for classic games to fill this void?
